Albert Mann Gewurztraminer Altenbourg Vendanges Tardives 2009 500ml
Wine SpectatorA textbook Gewürztraminer, showing all of the aromatic rose petal, orange blossom and cream notes, as well as flavors of lychee, orange sorbet and green melon, with lots of spice, such as cardamom and pink peppercorn. A delicate version, with mouthwatering acidity and a silky texture. Just off-dry and very appealing. Drink now through 2024. 10 cases imported.
Wine AdvocateThe Mann 2009 Gewurztraminer Altenbourg Vendange Tardive is exotic and overripe in its scents and gaudy, opulent, silken-textured palate suffusion of banana, litchi, and mango. Hints of celery seed, brown spices, and bacon fat add interest, although this proves overridingly sweet in finish, making for a wine that in more ways than one may strike some tasters as too much of a good thing and others as a delectably sinful self-indulgence. Plan to indulge in it within the next 6-8 years.
