Calvino Jones Duncanshire Zinfandel 2011
The 2011 shows both a fresh dark berry bramble, and layers of riper fruit components that just barely touch the raisined spectrum. This is relatively low-alcohol Zinfandel with a decidedly lively and focused fruit profile accompanied by a dried herbal mix, dried grass and star-thistle, and some eucalyptus notes. The mid-palate is full of chocolate, tabacco, and toasted spices. The minerality of this vineyard is relatively rich and soft produced from the loamy soils. While concentrated and complex the overall profile of the wine is fresh and uplifting.
