Daniel Barraud Pouilly Fuisse Les Crays 2014

SKU nbfbr-206

Clinging to the Rock of Vergisson, this sun drenched mountainside slope demands precision and accuracy. The soil, made up of limestone scree, and located on a steep slope, brings a beautiful limestone minerality to the wine. Matured 12 months in barrels (20% new wood) and 3 months in tanks after racking. The wine is mineral, delicate and round. Sautéed white fruits, apricots, and fresh herbs; full south-facing vineyard means broader, bolder flavors.

Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Pouilly-Fuissé les Crays Vieilles Vignes has another compelling bouquet, not quite as refined as the Verchere, but delivering gorgeous citrus fruit, white peach and melted butter scents that gain intensity in the glass. The palate is clean and fresh on the entry, hints of rosewater and orange zest on the entry, gaining more and more acidity as it unfurls in the mouth to leave you completely satisfied by the finish. Absolutely delicious.
