St. Innocent Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013
Wine EnthusiastLushly scented with fresh-cut wood, red berries, cherries and toasted coconut, this delicately entwines the flavors that follow. It's a gentle, lovely, graceful and low-alcohol beauty that should continue to drink well into the mid-2020's. Editor's Choice.
Wine AdvocateThe 2013 Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Vineyard was picked after the rains in September, though not too late since it can accumulate sugar rapidly. The nose is fresh and sorbet-like with blood orange tincturing the red cherry and strawberry fruit. There is something a little playful about this nose. The palate is medium-bodied with a little chewiness on the entry. The tannins are not quite as fine as other single vineyard offerings from St. Innocent, although there is plenty of substance towards the stocky finish that has a pleasing salinity.
Wine SpectatorFresh and firm-textured, with a minty edge to the light raspberry flavors. Drink now. 1,176 cases made.
