Vins El Cep Kila Cava Brut 2011
|Brand||Vins El Cep|
Wine AdvocateThe 2011 Kila Cava, made from 35% Macabeo, 30% Xarel-lo, 20% Parellada and 15% Chardonnay, (11% alcohol) tastes reasonably dry and smells more like Chardonnay than the 15% included in the blend would suggest. Notes of brioche, wheat thin, pear and apple butter jump from the glass of this fresh, creamy, light-bodied sparkler. Drink it over the next 1-2 years.
Wine EnthusiastDusty apple, spice and tropical fruit aromas feed into a mellow palate that isn't terribly acidic or cutting. Nectarine, passion fruit and mango flavors finish ripe and friendly, with residual sweetness and tropical fruit flavors.
Wine SpectatorBalanced and creamy in texture, with modest notes of plum puree, apple tart and toasted almond, offering a savory, fleur de sel-tinged finish. Drink now. 5,000 cases imported.
